Description

Hobbs Cross is an early 18th-century building that was remodeled in 1902. It is two storeys tall, featuring a pebbledash exterior over a rubble base and a hipped slate roof with a tented lower slope. The façade includes three windows with cross-glazed sashes. A central gabled porch, which retains its original brackets, is now supported by wooden posts and features a half-glazed door. At the rear, there is a hipped stair turret.

Inside, the principal room on the ground floor has a large fireplace that still shows remnants of a bread oven. The staircase boasts a wide moulded handrail and turned balusters on a straight string. The first-floor landing includes three ovolo doorcases with matching skirting moulding. The north-west first floor features an eaved chimney-piece with a shafted frieze and a moulded cornice. The windows throughout the building have cupboard seats and ovolo surrounds.
