Description

The Northgate Inn is a public house dating from the 18th century. It features incised stucco on rubble, with rubble at the rear and some slate hanging on the left-hand gable. The building has a steep rag slate roof with a modillion eaves cornice and a rendered stack on the left. It has a double-depth plan under two parallel roofs and stands two storeys tall with a four-window range. The first floor has mid to late 19th century four-pane horned sash windows, while the ground floor has two pairs of two-pane horned sash windows. There is a V-jointed ledged door and a blind slate-hung dormer at the rear of the front range. The brick surrounds to the rear openings are also notable. The interior has not been inspected.
