Description
Rostallan and Wenmouth Close, formerly known as Union House, is a house that has been divided into two homes. It dates back to the 17th century and was partly rebuilt in the 20th century. The building features a painted rubble wall on the left side and a rendered wall on the rebuilt right side, topped with a steep asbestos slate roof. It has a single-depth plan with a deep wing at the rear left and stands two storeys high, with an overall three-window range. The windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars, set in openings that are spanned by timber lintels. Notably, there is a very wide opening on the ground floor to the left, which has a 17th-century ovolo-moulded lintel with tongue stops. There is a similar 17th-century lintel above the central doorway, which features a heavy frame and a mid-19th-century four-panel door with chamfered panels. A 20th-century slate hood is above the door, and there is a 20th-century garage door to the right and a 20th-century house door at the far right. The interior has not been inspected.
