Description
The engine house at Wheal Sisters Mine, located at SW 512267, is a Grade II listed building dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, featuring round brick arches over its openings and a brick upper stage on its round chimney. The building has a rectangular plan with a round stack at the south corner and a thicker bob wall on the northwest side. Originally, it had three floors, but the machinery floors and roof have been removed.
The exterior displays round-headed openings on all walls, with the bob wall featuring a central doorway. The rear gable end has three central openings, one for each floor, while the left-hand wall has two window openings and the right-hand wall has a doorway at ground level. The interior has not been inspected.
