Description

The wood shed, now unused, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It has brick walls with gable ends and a clay pantile roof, forming a small square single-cell building. There is a doorway at the west end, but the interior has not been inspected. This structure was part of the Perran Iron Foundry, which was established in 1791 and became the most significant foundry in Cornwall, known for manufacturing some of the largest beam engines ever built. The shed is included for its group value with the foundry.
