Description
The Harbour Walls, Pier, Quay, and Slips at Coverack, St Keverne, are a Grade II listed structure dating back to 1724, as indicated by the inscribed stone 'T Ellis 1724'. The pier is constructed of rubble serpentine with granite dressings and changes direction at an obtuse angle to enclose a shallow harbour that dries out at low tide. Inside the pier, there are a pair of integral stone steps, and on the seaward side, there is a shelter wall with a later rubble seat on the inner side. The harbour is partially bounded by low natural rock faces and partially by rubble retaining walls and quay. A stone rubble slipway curves down from the west jetty into the harbour, and there is a later slipway that runs down to the harbour from the south.
