Description
Driftwood Flats, at Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4, St Andrew's Street, likely originated in the 18th century or earlier. The front elevation facing the road is unremarkable, three storeys high with three windows. It features modern casement and sash windows without glazing bars, and the upper floors have a roughcast finish. Originally, the upper floors were jettied, supported on granite columns, two of which remain embedded in the ground floor wall. The east elevation, facing the harbour, is irregular and largely clad in slate, with a hipped roof and a projecting wing. It has irregular fenestration with modern casements, and slurried slate roofs.
