Description

The Lobster Pot Cafe and House dates from the 18th and 19th centuries, with significant alterations made in the 20th century. The main part of the building is constructed from granite rubble with new slate hanging to the second floor. It has a slate hipped roof and stands at a right angle to South Cliff, with its end facing the harbour. This section is three stories high and has one window. The second floor features a wide modern casement window, while the first floor has a wide square bay window. A 20th-century glazed balcony is cantilevered over the harbour on the ground floor. To the left, overlooking the harbour, is an 18th-century section of granite rubble with a slate roof and three windows. These windows consist of casements and sash windows with glazing bars, with a modern casement on the ground floor. The road elevation has a granite ground floor and slate hanging above, with no windows. The building is included on the list for group value, forming a group with Thy Marghas.
