Description
The lych gate, located about 25 meters north of the west end of the Church of Saint Paul, was probably built around 1892. It is constructed from elvan ashlar and killas rubble, featuring a dry Delabole slate roof and a slate-hung south gable end. The structure has a rectangular plan with benches on the east and west sides, and a central elvan and granite coffin rest. There are entrances on the north and south sides. The north entrance is set in a coped gable end made of elvan ashlar and features a four-centred arch made of elvan voussoirs. The gable is topped with an octagonal finial that has a moulded pendant base and a moulded cornice, which is surmounted by a Latin cross. This lych gate is included for its group value.
