Description
Hendrifton Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, with an addition from around the mid-19th century and some later alterations. The building is constructed of slatestone and granite rubble, which is painted, and features a slate-hung front. It has a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, and gable end stacks with shaped tops on the left. The rear outshut has a slurried slate roof.
The farmhouse has a two-room plan, with each room heated by a gable end stack and a central entrance. There is an unheated outshut along the entire rear, which is a later 19th-century addition. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical five-window range, with all windows being 20th-century casements. The first floor features all two-light casements and is slate-hung. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement to the left, a 20th-century porch with a pitched roof and an inner glazed door at the centre, and two two-light casements to the right. There is also a small single-storey rubble shed attached to the front right. The right side of the farmhouse has an external stack. At the rear, the outshut has a catslide roof, with a stable door to the left, two single lights, and a two-light casement to the right. The left side and interior of the building are not accessible.
