Description

The Goodfellow and Montgomery tomb is located approximately 6 metres east of the north aisle of the Church of St Budock. This structure consists of a chest tomb and a chest on a pedestal. The chest is inscribed to Isabella Montgomery, who died in 1828 at the age of 69, while the chest on the pedestal is inscribed to Robert Goodfellow. The chest features an incised slab set on a brick base from around the 1840s and is rectangular in shape. The chest on the pedestal is made of dressed freestone and is square in plan, showcasing Gothic and classical style details. It has arched panelled sides flanked by arched pilasters with quatrefoils above, and the entire structure is topped with an urn.
