GV II

2 pairs of gatepiers and garden wall to garden south of Tonacombe Manor. Wall probably rebuilt C18, may be of earlier origin, C18 gatepiers. Stone rubble coped garden wall, ashlar gatepiers. 2 pairs of gatepiers of square section at west and east ends of the carriageway known as "the street" immediately to the south of Tonacombe Manor. Gatepiers stand on moulded plinths and have moulded cornices. Pilasters terminating in moulded carved consoles to inner sides of piers. East piers are surmounted by the Waddon falcon. The gatepiers may have originated at Stowe, the Grenville house in Kilkhampton, dismantled circa 1739.
