Description
The attached walls and two sets of gate-piers located south-west of Waddon Manor date from the early 18th century. They run in a north-south direction for 50 metres west of the manor. The walls are constructed from dry dressed stone and rubble-stone, featuring moulded coping-stones. The gate-piers are arranged axially, with the inner pair located 5 metres west of the house. These inner piers are rusticated stone with rebates and scroll terminals, topped with moulded cornices and ball finials on ogival bases. The outer pair consists of ashlar stone piers with thin cornice-moulding and ball terminals. The structure includes seven stone steps leading up to the gate-piers. This listing refers to a different set of walls and gate-piers than those mentioned in a separate entry.
