PADSTOW PRIDEAUX PLACE, Padstow SW 9075-9175 8/133 Terraces and sunken garden to north of Prideaux Place

GV II

Retaining walls to sunken garden with terrace of steps and pond. Circa mid C19. Flight of stone steps leads down to a sunken garden with a pond of quatrefoil plan in the centre. 4 flights of stone steps with low flanking walls, the stone bases forming the newels originally surmounted by classical urns of which at least 2 survive. There is a low stone rubble retaining wall to the north and the pond, directly to the south, has low stone walls forming a moulded coping. The garden is overgrown and orginally contained a conservatory.
