Description
Cannon. Circa 1700. This bronze cannon is lying in undergrowth beside the Green Walk of Prideaux Place. It was formerly one of the cannons on the saluting platform that connected the south gate with the mock fortifications, as shown in a print by Borlase from 1758. Another cannon from this group is displayed at the Tower of London. This is a rare example of a Henrician cannon.
