Description

The quay and adjoining ramp, located approximately 250 metres south west of Lower Calamansack, date back to 1832 and are situated on the estuary of the Helford River. The quay features a granite ashlar retaining wall that is slightly battered, with a projecting coping. It measures about 25 metres in length and has a splayed back at the right end, where the ramp is also constructed with a granite ashlar retaining wall. One of the granite blocks is inscribed with the name "Jonathan Mayn 1832" in upper case lettering, complete with serifs and scrolls on either side of the date.
