Description

Kersey House is a circa early 19th-century house in a row, originally known as No 3, Nankersey House, and previously listed as the Nankersey Hotel. The exterior has rendered walls, granite sills, and an asbestos slate roof with gable ends on both the right and left, uniting it with No 4. The house was originally planned with a large room to the left and a smaller room to the right, flanking a passage that leads to the stairwell located between the rear service rooms. It is three storeys high and presents a regular four-window facade to the south-west road. The entrance is in the third bay from the left, featuring a 19th-century four-panel door with flush beaded bottom panels. Projecting keystones accentuate the slightly arched ground-floor openings. All windows are twelve-pane horned sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. The listing includes the building for its group value.
