Description

Elizabeth Terrace is a terrace of eight cottages built around 1885. The cottages are constructed from granite rubble, featuring granite and brick dressings, and have an asbestos slate roof with gable ends, cross gables, and gabled dormers. Brick chimneys are located over the gable ends and the cross party walls.

The layout consists of a row of eight similar but not identical cottages, each with a double depth plan and one room wide, with entrances on one side. There are five single-storey service wings at right angles to the rear, with the middle three presumably shared.

The exterior is two storeys high and features a fairly regular eight-window south front arranged in a pattern of 1:2:1:3:1 bays. The leftmost bay has a bay window on both floors, while the fourth and eighth bays have slightly projecting cross gables. Bays two and three include gabled dormers, and the other bays are flat fronted. The doorways are narrow with ledged doors, and there are 20th-century three-light casements in the original openings at the front. The interiors have not been inspected.
