Description
There are two tombchests located 4 to 6 meters south of the south tower of the Church of St. Michael. These tombchests date from 1762 and 1789 and commemorate members of the Hodge family. The first tombchest is in memory of Thomas, the son of Thomas and Jenny Hodge of Treffrisa, who died in 1762. The second tombchest, to the south, is for Thomas Hodge of Treffrisa, who died in 1789, and his son John, who died in 1801. Both tombchests are made of stone rubble, partly rendered, and feature rectangular slate lids. They have inscriptions and verses in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
