Description
ST BURYAN TREWOOFE SW 42 NW 5/170 Stockyard buildings and yard walls 9.6.77 at from approximately 20 metres south west of Trewoofe Farmhouse GV II Piggeries, swill kitchen and associated adjoining yard walls, now mostly converted to living accommodation. Circa early C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings including some reused C17 chamfered masonry. Wet-laid scantle slate roofs with gable ends. Brick chimney over right-hand gable of piggery. Plan: L-shaped plan ranges of piggeries and possibly loose boxes with former swill kitchen in the corner which faces into a square yard at the inner angle enclosed by adjoining walls and another range of 2 stables adjoining at the right-hand east side of the front end. The stable is the only part not converted to living accommodation. Exterior: Single storey. Unaltered elevations except that windows have been fitted to some of the former doorways. 5 openings to south front of piggery, 3 openings to west front of piggery, 2 doorways to south front of stables (right) and doorway into right-hand end of piggery with reused C17 sill or head of former 2-light mullioned window used as lintel. Interior not inspected.
