Description

The Packet Monument is a granite obelisk built in 1898 through public subscription to honor the gallant officers and men of Her Majesty's Post Office and Packet Service who sailed from Falmouth between 1688 and 1852. The monument consists of three sections and stands on a panelled pedestal, which is set on a stepped rock-faced granite base surrounded by a granite kerb.
