Description

LANEAST LANEAST SX 28 SW 4/164 Cross in the churchyard about 3 - metres south of south porch of Church of St Sidwell and St Gulval

GV II*

Cross. Pre-Conquest. Granite monolith, about 3 metres high. Roughly hewn. The shaft is of rectangular plan, tapered, with two diamonds carved on the front (to east) and lugs below the head. The lower part of the shaft is a later replacement. The wheelhead is of the four-hole variety, with moulded rim with primitive raised carved patee cross to front and rear. Ancient monument no. 420.
