Description
The lychgate at the east entrance to the churchyard of the Church of St Sidwell and St Gulval dates from 1848 and is constructed of granite with granite dressings and slate. It features granite rubble walls on either side of the gateway, which are approximately one metre high and have chamfered granite coping. The walls are arranged in an L-plan, enclosing a slate seat on the inner sides. The initials "WFE" are carved on the front of the coping on one side, with "1848" carved on the other side. The walls measure about 2 metres in length. The granite grid paving between the walls has been infilled, and there was formerly a gate across the outer side.
