Description

This granary, built around the late 19th century, is located approximately 80 metres southwest of Godolphin House. It features granite rubble walls with dressed granite quoins, steps, jambstones, and lintels. The roof is made of scantle slate and has a brick chimney on the right-hand gable end. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a wide doorway in the middle of the left-hand (east) gable end, with a straight flight of stone steps leading to a first-floor loading door at the rear. There is a small ventilation hatch next to the doorway and a fireplace at the opposite end. The granary is two storeys tall and has one window on the north front, with a central ground floor window and a window above it. Inside, the original roof and suspended floor structures remain intact. This granary is part of a group of farm buildings associated with Godolphin House and is included for its group value.
