Stables And Barn Around Farmyard To The North East Of Chapel Farm House

The stables and barn around the farmyard to the northeast of Chapel Farmhouse date from the late 19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble with stone and brick dressings and feature gabled slate roofs. This structure originally served as a stable range and accommodation for stable boys associated with Chapel House. The east range includes a cart entrance, while the barn with a loft above projects from the front on the south side, and the stables with accommodation above project from the front on the north side, creating a U-shaped plan. The building is two storeys tall. The east range has a stable door to the left of the cart entrance and a two-light opening on the right side at ground floor level, featuring segmental stone voussoirs. The barn has a ground floor entrance to the left of the front, with two ground floor openings and three first floor openings. The stables with accommodation above have two stable entrances and three first floor windows. This structure is included for its group value with Chapel Farmhouse.
