Description
29 St Augustine's Parade is a house that has been converted into an office. It dates from the late 18th century but was rebuilt in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with limestone dressings and was originally timber-framed, topped with a pantile hipped roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with an attic, featuring a two-window range. The ground floor is divided into two sections, with panelled timber jambs; there is a shop front on the left and a two-leaf door on the right. The tall windows have cambered heads with brick arches and contain 6/6-pane sashes, while a hipped dormer is present in the roof. The interior was largely remodelled around 1980, but a section of timber studwork remains in the lobby. The buildings numbered 26 to 30 St Augustine's Parade are now internally connected as a single structure.
