Description
This mid-19th century house is located on Cotham Road, Bristol. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a roof that is not visible. The building follows a double-depth plan and is designed in an Italianate style, incorporating unusual details.
The house is three storeys high and has a three-window front. Its symmetrical facade features round-ended quoins, plat bands marking each floor, a bracketed cornice, and a parapet with three sections of pierced balustrade. A projecting doorcase has a keyed semicircular arch, sunken panels, a bracketed cornice, a balustrade, and a pair of six-panel doors. The flanking bays have matching cornices, and French windows. Upper windows are semicircular-arched, with raised surrounds. The outer bays have brackets supporting balustrade-less balconies and consoles flanking the cornices on the first floor, while the second floor has plain surrounds. The central windows on the first floor have fluted architraves and a console cornice. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
