Description
The Coach and Horses Public House is a public house built around 1830. It features painted brick with limestone dressings and rendered sides, with lateral stacks and a roof that is not visible. The building has a double-depth plan and is two stories tall with a three-window range. The symmetrical front includes clasping pilaster strips leading to a cornice and parapet, along with a semicircular-arched doorway that has a rounded surround, key, and imposts, a fanlight, and a six-panel door. On either side of the doorway, there are shallow timber bays with three plate-glass sashes, which have semicircular-arched upper panes, as well as a fascia and cornice. The first floor features seven stepped voussoirs above eight-over-eight pane sashes. The left-hand return has two windows with a central 20th-century door, flanked by public house windows that have stained glass above the transom and fascias. The interior has not been inspected.
