Description

The canal, located approximately 50 metres south-west of Goldney House in Bristol, was built between 1758 and 1759 and underwent alterations around 1865. It is constructed of brick, limestone ashlar, and rubble, featuring a long rectangular stone-lined pool with curved steps leading down at the northern end. Additionally, there is a 19th-century fountain adorned with tritons supporting a shell. This canal is an essential part of a remarkably well-preserved 18th-century garden layout.
