Description
This entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 23 July 2024 to correction the address to Lewins Mead and added a sentence about when it was moved. Statue of Samuel Morley. Unveiled 1887. Carved by J Howard Thomas. Granite base and marble statue. A round grey granite base, square red granite moulded plinth and statue on top.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Morley was an MP from 1858-1885. Moved from beside Bristol Bridge in 1921. Moved from Horsefair to Lewins Mead in 1997.
