Description
19 Charlotte Street is a house built around 1820, featuring limestone and Pennant ashlar with gable stacks. The roof is not visible. This two-storey building is designed in a Neoclassical style and has a double-depth plan. The front is symmetrical with a projecting central entrance bay. The sides are set back and have pilasters that are rusticated on the ground floor and decorated with Greek key designs on the second floor. There is a plat band, cornice, and parapet above.
The entrance features an open porch supported by Ionic columns, an entablature, and side windows leading to a moulded semicircular-arched doorway. This doorway includes a three-panel fanlight and a six-panel door. The ground-floor windows are set in semicircular-arched recesses with radial flutings, while the first-floor windows are plain, with the central windows having architraves and console cornices. The windows are 8/8-pane sashes, with plate-glass in the side windows of the bay. The rendered rear elevation has a central full-height three-window bow. The interior has not been inspected.
