Description

The Cottage is a house built around 1860, featuring snecked limestone rubble with limestone ashlar and Pennant dressings, ashlar side and ridge stacks, and a tiled roof. It is designed in a picturesque Gothic Revival style and has a double-depth plan. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range. Its irregular shape includes a left-hand gable and a gabled cross-wing on the right, which leads to a right-hand glazed porch. The entrance features a two-centred arched door with elaborate strap hinges, set in a porch corner window that includes transoms and trefoil-headed lights. The windows have three-sided heads, with three lights beside the entrance and two lights in the gable, above a cross window. All windows have casements with horizontal bars and leaded lights, topped with Pennant relieving arches. Gabled eaves dormers are present on the side elevations. The interior has not been inspected.
