Description
The walls, piers, and gates at the west entrance to Clifton Hill School playing fields date from the late 18th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar, snecked Pennant stone, and wrought iron. The structure features rusticated piers that have panels inscribed with "THE GROVE," along with modillion cornices and urn finials. Flanking the entrance are curved screen walls, and the gates are adorned with a raised central decoration. This entrance now serves as the access point to the Clifton Hill School playing fields, complementing the southern entrance.
