Description

A pair of attached houses, now shops, dating from the mid to late 18th century and located on the south side of Old Market Street in Bristol. The houses are rendered with limestone dressings, a rendered valley stack, and pantile hipped roofs. They have a double-depth plan and are built in a mid-Georgian style, featuring a five-window range over three storeys. The shop fronts are 20th-century replacements, with rusticated pilasters to the parapet. The windows are 6/6-pane sashes in flush boxes, with three windows present in No. 51. A semicircular-arched doorway with brackets to a pediment, a five-light timber fanlight, and a six-panel door are found on the left return elevation. The interior remains uninspected.
