Description

The Masons Arms public house, located on Old Market Street in Bristol, dates from the 17th century, with a construction date of 1630 recorded. It is a double-depth building constructed with a timber-frame and rendered finish. A brick side gable features stacks, and the roof is covered with pantiles. The building has three main storeys, an attic, and a basement.

The front of the building is gabled. It includes a recessed, left-hand door with six panels. To the left of the door is a 19th-century shop front, featuring paired plate-glass sashes and panelled jambs, overlaid by a lead lean-to canopy with a curved bracket on its left side. The upper floors have 19th-century plate-glass sashes set flush with the wall. A small, four-light casement window is located in the attic. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
