Description

The Orangery, located approximately 20 metres south-west of Goldney House, is an orangery built around 1730 and refronted in 1933. It is constructed of red brick with limestone ashlar and features a slate hipped roof. The building has a single-depth plan and is a single-storey structure with a nine-window range, designed in the Neo-Georgian style. The symmetrical block includes a cornice and parapet, with two doorways that have segmental-arched heads and nine stepped voussoirs leading to half-glazed doors. Between the doorways are three groups of three windows, also with segmental-arched heads and seven stepped voussoirs, featuring 12/12-pane sashes. There is a semicircular-arched French window on the right side. The parapet is adorned with four urns. Inside, the floor is marble-flagged.
