Description
Number 13 is an attached house located on Cave Street in Bristol, dating from the late 18th century and restored around 1980. The building is constructed of brick with limestone dressings, featuring party wall stacks and a pantile mansard roof. It has a double-depth plan and consists of three storeys, an attic, and a basement. This house is part of a rebuilt terrace, which includes a ramped cornice and parapet on the left side.
The left-hand entrance features a semicircular-arched doorway with a console pediment, a five-pane fanlight, and a six-panel door. There are five stepped voussoirs above six-over-six pane sash windows, and two three-over-three pane sashes in the raking dormers. An arched bridge leads to the entrance, crossing over basement areas that provide access to paired semicircular vaulted stores beneath the road. The interior has not been inspected.
Additionally, there are attached steel railings for the basement area. Number 13 was formerly part of a terrace with numbers 1 to 11, all of which have been rebuilt, but only number 13 is listed.
