Description
The group of approximately 30 chest tombs located in Brunswick Square Burial Ground dates back to 1768. These tombs are made of Pennant ashlar and include various rectangular and square designs, situated about 3 meters north of Surrey Lodge. Some of the tombs have collapsed, with two having rhomboid shapes with bayed ends and two being square with panelled sides, one featuring a pyramidal top. It is noted that some tombs are so collapsed and overgrown with ivy that an exact count is difficult. The burial ground was developed by the Lewin's Mead Chapel congregation and was laid out by Daniel Hague.
