GV II

Group of approx 30 chest tombs. From 1768. Pennant ashlar. Various rectangular and square chest tombs approx 3m N of Surrey Lodge. Some collapsed, 2 rhomboid with bayed ends and 2 square with panelled sides, one with a pyramidal top. Note: some so collapsed and obscured by ivy that counting is inexact. The burial ground was developed by the Lewin's Mead Chapel congregation (qv), and laid out by Daniel Hague.
