Pair of attached houses, one now a public house. Early C18. Brick with limestone dressings, a brick party wall stack and pantile roofs hipped to the front. Double-depth plan. Each of 3 storeys, basement and attic; No.18 a 2-window range, No.19 a 3-window range. Rusticated pilasters, moulded strings at each floor, and moulded parapet coping. No.18 has a C19 left-hand doorway with a fluted semicircular arch and small cornice, a batswing 6-pane fanlight and 6-panel door. Rusticated lintels to 6/6-pane sashes in exposed frames. No.19 has a C19 public house front with a central doorway and plate-glass windows. INTERIOR: No.18, entrance hall to a central open-well stair with an uncut string, column-on-vase balusters, column newels with pyramidal pendents and a toadback rail; the front room is fully panelled, with an early C18 eared timber fireplace with rocaille decoration and marble surround; upper rooms with 2-panel cupboards with H hinges beside the fireplaces; the basement has a copper and steps to pavement. No.19 has a C20 public house interior.
