Description

The hand crane on Redcliffe Wharf is a 19th-century structure made of cast iron and timber. It features a rotating mechanism housed in a cast-iron frame, with an octagonal boom supported by steel bracing. This type of hand crane was commonly used in the Floating Harbour throughout its commercial history, but very few examples remain today.
