Description

The walls, quays, and bollards at Bathurst Basin in Bristol were constructed around 1809 by William Jessop. Made of pennant ashlar and cast iron, these structures form the surrounding walls of the basin and its locks, extending approximately 100 meters out from the south lock along the New Cut. They include mooring bollards and capstans positioned alongside the walls. This construction is part of Jessop's design for the Floating Harbour, which was completed in 1809. Additionally, new landing stages in the Cut near the entrance to Bathurst Basin were built in 1852.
