Description

This is a terrace of three houses, built in the early 19th century in Clifton, Bristol. The houses are faced with rendered surfaces and limestone ashlar, with party wall stacks and a pantile hipped roof. They are built on a double-depth plan, with three storeys and a basement. Numbers 1 and 2 each have a single-window frontage, while Number 3 includes the Portcullis Public House and has a two-window frontage. The terrace is uneven, with the right-hand end curved back, and features pilaster strips, a thin cornice, and a parapet. The ground floors contain shop fronts with small panes, and central half-glazed doors to numbers 1 and 2, with a left-hand door leading to the public house. Number 1 has two first-floor windows with sash windows containing margin panes. Number 2 has a six-over-six-pane sash window on the first floor, and a three-over-three-pane sash window on the second floor. Number 3 has a tripartite horned sash window on the first floor and a three-over-three-pane sash window on the second floor. The basement is constructed with rubble and has a raised pavement with wrought-iron railings. The interior has not been inspected.
