Description
The Tomb of Susannah Clark, who died in 1837, is located in Arnos Vale Cemetery. This Grade II Neoclassical memorial is made of marble and features a square plinth set on a stepped base with a moulded cap. Atop the plinth is a part-draped urn. The monument honors Susannah, the first wife of Henry Clark, a surgeon from Cotham, who died in 1861, as well as Jane, his second wife, who passed away in 1845. Positioned among a notable group of monuments, this tomb is a fine example of Neoclassical design, showcasing exceptionally well-executed, crisp, and austere masonry.
