Description

This is a pair of attached houses with a shop, dating from around 1860. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar with a hidden roof. It has a double-depth plan and is arranged over three storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical facade of two windows. The shop front features a central glazed door and plate-glass windows. To the right is a doorway leading to the house, with a six-panel door, both incorporating pilasters with capitals decorated with festoons, and a fascia blind. Pilaster strips above the ground floor have incised ornament on each floor, along with lintel bands running across each floor and a dentil cornice. The attic storey has a sill band and cornice. The first- and second-floor windows have architraves, moulded consoles, dentil cornices extending over the consoles, panelled aprons, and sill blocks. The attic windows have pilaster jambs with moulded panels, plinths and capitals, segmental heads, and cornices broken out above the windows. The interior of the building was not inspected.
