Description

The gates and gate piers at the South Lodge of Canford School date from the mid-19th century and are possibly designed by Sir Charles Barry. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature wrought-iron gates and stanchions. The square piers have raised panels, moulded bases, cornices, and square openwork obelisk finials. The gates consist of curved double sections linking to central square stanchions, adorned with enriched decoration. These gates were relocated from a position closer to the school in 1936.
