Description
The pillar box located on the green opposite Mount Pleasant in Mudeford dates from around 1856 and is an example of early Victorian design. It is made of cast iron and features a fluted column, a plinth, and a round cap, with a vertical letter box. This pillar box is part of a group that includes Seabrook Cottage, Bridge House, Sunnyholme and the adjoining cottage, Mudeford Lodge and its outbuilding, The Moorings, Mount Pleasant and its boundary wall, and The Staithe, with all but Mudeford Lodge, The Moorings, the pillar box, and The Staithe being of local interest.
