Description
19 and 19A High Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a stucco front and features a stretcher bond right-hand return, topped with a pyramidal slate hipped roof. The building has a double-depth plan that includes a rear stair tower.
The left-hand round-arched doorway is adorned with a radial fanlight and a six-panel door. The early 19th-century shop front has a central doorway, thin pilasters, and a fascia, along with later 19th-century six-pane windows and a right-hand basement light. The original six-over-six pane sashes on the first floor and three-over-three pane sashes on the second floor have been replaced with late 20th-century windows. The eaves are supported by paired moulded brackets.
The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have a winder stair leading to the rear, featuring Tuscan newels, stick balusters, and a continuous handrail.
