Description
Rectory Farmhouse is an early to mid-17th century farmhouse. It is constructed of rendered walls with freestone dressings, and has a double Roman tiled roof with coped, raised verges. The building is two storeys high with an attic space lit by three hipped dormers. Four windows, each with three or two lights, are set within ovolo-moulded mullion surrounds and under dripmoulds. A plank door, positioned off-centre to the left, is set within an ashlar surround featuring ovolo moulding and a four-centred head, with strap hinges bearing fleur-de-lys terminals. The interior retains a cross passage. A room to the left has stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a chamfered fireplace lintel. A room to the right, which originally comprised two rooms, contains an eight-panelled ceiling with chamfered beams, and an ashlar fireplace with a stop-chamfered surround and four-centred head. A newel stair is located at the rear.
