Description
Victoria Buildings consists of fourteen terrace houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature slate roofs. The exterior presents a very plain continuous terrace of two-storey houses, each with two windows on the first floor and one window below. The windows are mainly plain or replacement sashes set on small brackets with stone sills. Notably, No. 13 retains its original sixteen-pane sashes. Each house has a doorway to the right, originally featuring four-panel doors, which are still present in Nos. 12, 18, 19, 20, and 23. These doorways are topped with a transom light and framed by plain pilasters, with decorative consoles supporting a flat hood that has a moulded edge, along with a blocking course. The terrace includes a mid platband, a slight moulded cornice, a blocking course, and a parapet. Each house also has a two-stage ashlar stack positioned forward of the ridge on slight copings at each party wall. This terrace is part of a longer row, which has been extended at both ends. The interiors have not been inspected.
