Description
Nos. 144 and 146 on High Street are a pair of houses built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed of ashlar stone and feature a hipped slate roof that is set behind a parapet with a cornice. The buildings rise three storeys and have four bays, with the outer bays forming two-storey wings; the wing for No. 144 is set back from the main facade. The ground floor includes a large pane sash window and a modern window, while the upper floors have a mix of 12 and 16 pane glazing bar sashes. The entrance to No. 144 is located in the setback wing and features a five-panel door within a doorcase supported by Tuscan pilasters, topped with a pediment.
